It’s clear the designer Jeep wrinkles details on the new Wrangler. It may look too similar to JK Wrangler out in the photo, but personally, the new JL has a completely different personality. Each body panel is different and very clear both of you are approaching.
The grille and optional LED lights go a long way in making the Wrangler JL feel modern. LED light signals and daytime running lights on the front fenders also contribute. The longer, flatter hoods bring better proportionality to the Unlimited Wrangler profile, while the new belt and line lines lowered under the window make it look less heavy.
Behind, the new taillights and bumper can be identified quickly against the older JK Wrangler
Behind, the new taillights and bumper can be identified quickly against the older JK Wrangler. The license board is transferred from the body to the bumper, also aids in aerodynamics. It also keeps the number plate from tearing down the path – a regular occurrence with JK. The tailgate hinges are now open rather than plastic covered and the spare tires are installed lower for better visibility of the rear window.
Another striking improvement is the new tensile door handle. They are much easier to operate than JK and even include it passively. The push start button is also standard across the board.
And speaking of aerodynamics, the new form of Wrangler JL is much better at regulating the air. The sport model has a new air dam that fits between the bumper and the front fender. The top hard models now have lightweight spoiler lips above the rear window. The new windshield is a bit more scooped up but still much more vertical than anything seen on a crossover or car. Only the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon can compete with the Wrangler’s sharp windshield.
Wrangler JL has three top choices. The soft top, the hard top, and the Powertop. There are actually two soft top versions: the vinyl sections on the base model and the top of the canvas are thicker and more isolated as an additional cost option. The top of Freedom is similar to JK’s Freedom top, but Jeep eliminates the hand-screws that take a long time to undo it. Now, only eight hooks secure both panels. The panel is now lighter, can also be removed and replaced easily. Powertop is available only in Sahara and Rubicon trims and offers a single touch of operating power that opens the canvas panel. What remains is a large sunroof of A pillar passing through the C pillar. Moreover, the side windows are easily removed with two hooks. Powertop is the right choice for anyone who can not stand the weight or start getting wet when it starts raining.

2018 Jeep Wrangler Ineterior
Everything touched soft or deliberately hard. If it looks like metal, it is. The screws on the dash are actually screws – even around the HVAC system. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is a joy to hold and the gear shifter provides satisfying feedback. The seat is much more supportive and the driver’s seat now features adjustable lumbar features.
Even so, Wrangler is not too fancy for his own good. Dash is still weatherproof and carpets can still be removed. Yes, the floor pan still has drain plugs and the seats can be adjusted manually so that no electric motor fails. The seat in the upper trim is heated, though, which is a big blessing on the cold drive with the door and the top.
Good in-house features include a bunch of USB and USB-C ports, a 110-volt housekeeping plug, longer and deeper armrests on the door, more storage, folding armrest on four-door, and two-tier models center console close
Wrangler is equipped with three Uconnect infotainment systems
Wrangler is equipped with three Uconnect infotainment systems: Uconnect 3 with 5.0 inch screen, Uconnect 4 with 7.0 inch screen, and Uconnect 4 with 8.4 inch screen with navigation. The 8.4 system comes in a four-door Sahara and Rubicon model.
The rear seat comfort is improved as well. Along with the folding arms in the middle on the four-door model, each Wrangler JL has a rear HVAC vent. The four doors offer more leg space than ever before and a more preoccupied chair with a more lean backrest. More USB ports and 110 volt household plugs are on the back of the center console.
Unlimited models can be owned with the new Jeep TrailRail system – an integrated aluminum rail with adjustable hooks to secure the cargo. Other trains are integrated into the tailgate. And in an effort to maximize utility, tailgate even has a flat spot on top of the hook to hold the beverage.
2018 Jeep Wrangler Powertrain
The standard engine is the upgraded Pentastar V-6 3.6-liter but equipped with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
For 2018, Wrangler eventually has more than one machine to choose from. The past Jeep has at least two machines available, so JL goes back in time. The engine options are a bit more modern.
The standard engine is the upgraded Pentastar V-6 3.6-liter but equipped with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This is an improved center on the new automatic start / stop system used to save fuel consumption. The V-6 is available with a new six-speed manual transmission and a new ZF automatic eight automatic transmission.
The optional engine is a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged that produces 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. it comes mated exclusively with an eight-speed automatic. The impressive torque rating comes by way of a lightweight hybrid system. A belt-starter-generator uses electricity to help turn the crankshaft of the engine on the lower rim. It helps with low-end torque and adds smoothness when crawling at low speeds. Automatic start / stop system is also used here.
